Sarasota County Commission Workshop on Stormwater Management, Wednesday, May 21st 1:00 PM, downtown Sarasota

Just a reminder that the Board of County Commissioners will be holding another in a series of workshops this Wednesday starting at 1:00 at the Commission Chambers in the SARASOTA COUNTY ADMINISTRATION CENTER, 1660 RINGLING BOULEVARD to discuss stormwater preparations for this upcoming Hurricane Season.

The workshop is intended for county staff to update and brief the commissioners on preparations, along with further recommended actions for them to consider. There will be an opportunity for residents and businesses to speak, either before or more likely after the presentations, to voice concerns and make suggestions.

The hyperlink below connects to the meeting agenda and materials that staff have prepared for the workshop. This material is also available on the County website under County Commission meetings. Let me know if you have any trouble accessing the materials.

Residents unable to join the workshop in person can join the workshop virtually on the live stream provided by the county over the internet.

We hope to see many of our neighbors and community leaders at the workshop. Our participation will help impress on our elected representatives that we are concerned and that they are doing everything possible to prepare for this season. Hopefully we can also urge the commissions to take the necessary steps toward better growth management so that we are not lurching from crisis-to-crisis year after year.
